Here at The Happy Litterbox, we’re always on the lookout for new cat litter products to reduce cat pee smell. These days there are so many innovations in cat litter and Lucy Pet Products has developed a completely new technology to stop litter box odor in its tracks.
The litter, Cat’s Incredible, bills itself as a “super premium clay clumping litter” with a patent pending technology designed to stop ammonia from forming, which they call “Smell Squasher.” Ammonia is that smell that we all associate with cat pee and, as a result, litter box odor, so the concept of stopping ammonia before it has a chance to form is wonderfully innovative!
We’ve been using Cat’s Incredible for about a month now and both the cats and the humans around here really love it. It has the same look and feel as other clumping clay cat litters which provided for a smooth transition and our cats had no trouble adjusting. We’re using the unscented version but it also comes in a light lavender scent. The litter forms tight clumps that are easy to scoop. As far as tracking is concerned, Cat’s Incredible performs about as well as similar clay litters. We love the bag design, which has two handles and an easy-to-pour spout with its own lid. And it’s recyclable so easy on the earth as well. Plus the litter didn’t get stuck in the crevices when the bag was almost empty.
So, does it work? Yes. The real difference maker is the cat pee smell eliminating qualities, so Cat’s Incredible is on point with their claim. We’ve noticed a significant reduction in the amount of ammonia/cat pee smell in and around the litter boxes.
According to the New York Department of Health, inhalation of lower concentrations of ammonia can cause coughing as well as nose and throat irritation. In higher concentrations (which thankfully a cat litter box won’t emit!) ammonia can even cause respiratory distress or failure. So even in small doses, ammonia can cause issues far beyond just the smell of it.
And to top it all off, net profits from Cat’s Incredible cat litter support the Lucy Pet Foundation, a great organization dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through mobile spay and neutering clinics as well as funding other animal related welfare causes
So, The Happy Litterbox is a fan of Cat’s Incredible cat litter and we plan on keeping it in our litter rotation.
